Squire’s Garden Centres in Milford is making great progress in its current scheme of improvements, scheduled for completion in spring 2025, which will bring about a fresh, new look for the centre as well as improved shopping experience for customers.

Visitors will have noticed a different appearance to the centre, with building work now firmly underway and hoardings in place. Customers can be reassured that the centre is open for business throughout the works. The new developments will bring about significant improvements, ensuring visitors have a greatly enhanced shopping experience in the very near future. Squire’s has demonstrated its commitment to the centre in recent years having invested in a new canopy to protect plants added to the centre’s rear outside space last year (2023), as well the introduction of a stylish new Café Bar, opened in 2020, and which has become a popular meeting point for customers.

Richard Wells, Centre Manager – Squire’s Milford, comments: “We are well underway with the work at our centre and are really looking forward to offering our customers a brighter and better customer experience in the new year. Our customers are always at the heart of what we do and meantime, while the work is underway, it is very much ‘business as usual’, with everything at our centre remaining open, including our much-loved Café Bar. Autumn is very much upon us and Squire’s Milford is filled with fresh, colourful seasonal plants, as well as new home and gift ware and our friendly team, known to many of our customers, are here to provide a very warm welcome.

“Squire’s Milford has always been a destination for family and friends during the festive season. Our Christmas Shop opens on 11 October and we are already taking bookings for our special Christmas Lunches. We’re really excited to let our customers know that we will also be having a Christmas Grotto at our centre this year too – back by popular demand! Ahead of that, we have  our ‘Spooky’ half-term activities for our younger visitors! So there continues to be lots to look forward to, amidst changes that are happening here!”

The re-design, and associated works, will see the introduction of a new-look spacious entrance and exit, as well as an extended and enhanced shop floor area. As a responsible local business within the community, Squire’s is committed to reducing energy consumption and creating more energy efficient buildings. As part of this drive, Squire’s Milford will be fitted with additional solar panels to the roof and gas has already been removed from the site, reducing the centre’s reliance on fossil fuels, as part of the current work.

Once building work is complete more trees will be added to the grounds and a new pond will be re-instated at the front of the centre to attract wildlife. Richard continues: “Squire’s Milford is fortunate to be in a unique environment, with lots of green space to the outside of the centre, bordering the road. The new pond will be quite a feature of the entrance area. Looking forward to springtime, we’re excited to be creating a new habitat for pondlife, supporting biodiversity here at Milford.”
