Although sounding daunting ‘group 3’ simply refers to the amount of pruning this Clematis can withstand, like roses after flowering its best to prune back to thew base as group 3 Clematis flower on new growth so to maximise the flowers it is best to prune back to the base of the plant around wintertime allowing for new growth in spring.
