Tulipa are a species of Tulip that provide your mid borders or containers with a unique yet vibrant crimson red flower with a white star inside the flower just past the open nectar stems. Similar to normal Tulips these estimate to become roughly 40cm in height and therefore will make a great addition into your vases should you wish to create a spring display of your spring bulbs. Tulipa don’t really have a specific time frame as to which they flower however, its generally weather and climate dependent (the milder your area or winter and spring the earlier the blooms and vice versa) Plant tulip bulbs from September to December 15-20cm deep and 10cm apart in fertile, well-drained soil, if planting in containers you can plant more closely simply by spacing the bulbs 1-2cm apart in a single layer, or 2-3cm apart if layering them for a showier impact. Flowering from April through to May recommend in a full sun but can tolerate a partial shaded area.
