Citrus Calamondin Mini Standard 20cm

10309392

Calamondin is a cross between the Mandarin Orange and a Kumquat this fruit is most used within Indonesian cuisine for condiments such as jams or marmalades due to its bitter taste. Being from the citrus family these trees are not frost tolerant so during the winter months we advise to bring it indoors or into a heated greenhouse away from any cold winds or frosts as this can harm and even kill the tree. Once any frost has passed you can place this in a full sun position outside or even in your conservatory as this will mimic the South Asian heat and climate. Another notable feature is being from the citrus family it dislikes being in wet soil so when it comes to watering, we recommend to water once a week or when the leaves are showing signs of drooping only then should you water thoroughly, raising the pot to allow for extra drainage. Flowering year round as the fruits take that long to mature. Reaching a maximum height of 3 metres with a spread of 1 metre. The fruits will be roughly 1 inch in diameter.
