Asplenium Scolopendrium is a rosette forming fern that handles even the toughest of British winters. Ferns are usually located on the forest floor where its dark and humid however, you can also see them along heathlands when you’re out for a walk giving you an idea on their versatility. Growing in either full shade or partial shade there really isn’t a place where a fern will not grow. For a natural look why not plant this fern next to your pond where the soil is moist but not wet or under a tree as they would normally be located in their natural environment. Typically, ferns die back in the autumn however this variety will keep its foliage year-round as this specimen is hardy up to -21 and either an exposed or sheltered position. Asplenium Scolopendrium will reach a potential height and spread of no more than 50cm.
