Sweet Pea Painted Lady (Grandiflora) Seeds

10043531

Experience the charm of sweet pea painted lady seeds, a small-flowered grandiflora climber that has been cherished since the 1730s. It's heavily perfumed and weather-tolerant. You can sow these seeds where they are meant to flower. For optimal results, sow indoors, placing the seeds 1.5cm deep with five seeds per 12cm pot of compost. Keep them in a cold frame, greenhouse, or cool windowsill, maintaining an ideal temperature of around 60°f. After 12-21 days, you'll see the first signs of seedlings. Encourage their growth by pinching out the growing tip after the second pair of leaves appear. Gradually acclimate the plants to outdoor conditions, avoiding frosts, before planting them 30cm apart. Support them with tall canes or netting. Alternatively, you can sow these seeds directly into well-prepared, moist soil and protect young seedlings from birds. Overwinter autumn sowings in a frost-free location.
